The Flying "K" Brothers CD

The Flying "K" Brothers is the invention of the acoustic upright bassist in the group, Ravi Knypstra. Accompanied by Django Porter on guitar, and again, yours truely, Raymond Pitts on clarinet.
The Flying "K" Bros. was one of the most joyful and swingingest groups I had the pleasure to be in!! We did arrangements and tunes from our idols...Benny Goodman..Gerry Mulligan..Django Reinhardt...and others.
These 'pros' helped us to create our own sound and make "their" music our own!! Driven by the force of pure SWING, we created sounds mimicking that of the swing era. Hot jazz..cool nights and fired-up soloing makes this trio one that will rival many!!

Betsy Spivak is a great singer/songwriter who I had the pleasure of meeting one day at The UN-Urban Coffehouse in lovely Santa Monica, CA. While doing a gig there with another band I was in (Mews and the Small Band), Betsy waltzed in and did a few of her songs, and we just "hooked-up" after that. It was a GREAT meeting-of-the-minds. From that day on, she and I never lost touch, and have subsequently created her NEW CD.."Bellysweet". The song "222 Ray St" is from that CD and is NOW in TOWER RECORDS across the U.S.!!!!
If you like singer/songwriters and happen to be one yourself, give her CD a listen...you'll like what you hear!!!
